With abundant dining options, creative entertainment, and a fun-loving social atmosphere, Resilient Lady is the perfect ship for just about anyone. Note that previous guests on identical Virgin Voyages ships have noted that some rooms on Deck 8 (forward) may hear bass or music from the Red Room or The Manor.
Food service
Passengers may only smoke or vape in the Deck 6 smoking room outside the Red Room and in a designated outdoor area on the starboard side of Deck 16 by the entrance to Richard's Rooftop. All shipboard food is made-to-order - to reduce waste and lower energy consumption and emissions. Savings are reinvested into fresh (locally sourced) top-quality products, exotic ingredients, highly trained staff, and clean technologies. Scarlet Night is the brand's marquee event and consists of a series of games, microtheater, torch songs, costumes and more across the entire ship. The Red Room is the only venue on the ship that has traditional theater seating, though it retracts to create an immersive standing-room experience for shows like eye-popping Persephone. The show comes directly from the Edinburgh fringe festival and can only be described as a DIY existential game show.

Since the line is adults only, there were no kids onboard, nor kid-related services. Since the brand's launch in 2021, Virgin Voyages has earned a number of top awards in the consumer travel and cruise industry categories. The happy hours here (where complimentary Möet flows freely) are understandably popular, and a good chance to mingle with fellow VIPs. Resilient Lady is Virgin Voyages' newest ship with sailings in Australia, the South Pacific, and Europe. The 2,762-passenger, 17-deck vessel was built in 2022 and first set sail in spring 2023. While all three ships in Virgin’s “lady ships” share nearly identical designs, the Resilient Lady features updated onboard entertainment and exciting new ports of call, including the Greek Islands, Bali, Croatia, and Mumbai. With seemingly limitless onboard activities for passengers to get back in touch with their youthful spirit (including my personal favorite, a nostalgic arcade room), the ship feels like a giant playground for adults with plenty of room to relax.
To put that in perspective, Resilient Lady is only slightly more than one-third of the size of the largest cruise ships afloat. With menus curated by Michelin-starred chefs, the experience has quickly become a foodies paradise, featuring culinary influences from these new regions in the Med. As is the case with most of its cruise-related endeavors, Virgin Voyages doesn't do food and drinks like the other lines do.
A few differences on Resilient Lady make rooms feel just a touch more upscale than newer premium ships from lines like Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. As we've already mentioned, nearly all rooms have an ocean view and, of those, more than 1,200 have balconies. Indoors, small perks include refilled carafes of sparkling or still water; tablets that control mood lighting, curtains, the TV and more; and 43-inch flatscreen TVs (a nice step up from the small televisions we see in cabins so often). There are plenty of AC and USB chargers throughout the cabins, including next to the bed. Things are decidedly more high-end in the 78 Resilient Lady suites, which are referred to as Rockstar Quarters and divided into Rockstar and Mega Rockstar categories. No matter which you choose, your room will come with a proper bar, turntable and curated Virgin records, swanky bathrooms with marble details plus king beds and time-of-day coordinated mood lighting.
However, there are some design choices I still don't entirely understand. Your fellow passengers won't blink if you have rainbow hair, are covered in tattoos, decide to dress as a mermaid, wear a tutu to dinner or show up to Scarlet Night in nothing but a Speedo. With roots in the music industry, the brand, backed by business mogul Richard Branson, had a lot to live up to when it decided to launch a cruise line.
(You can substitute a salad, but the fries are delicious and cutely served in a vessel designed to look like a crushed black Solo cup.) I also ordered a for-fee smoothie, but in line with some of the poor service I mentioned above, it never arrived. When you open the door to your room, the system is alerted to turn on certain lights and even to open the curtains at certain times of the day. I never did figure out how to set all of that, though, and I often found the curtains opening when I didn't want them to.
Your go-to will be Diner & Dash, which will cook up made-to-order eggs and omelets with bacon and other trimmings.
